Session Info

Where is Playhouse Speech and Language Therapy located?

Sessions are run out of Melinda's home in Wainuiomata.

A dedicated room with a separate entrance is used

How long are sessions?

Sessions are 40-45 minutes long, unless discussed otherwise

How often are sessions?

Sessions run on either a weekly or fortnightly schedule on a Tuesday or Wednesday.

Flexi Friday is also available where times/dates are arranged based on yours and Melinda's availability (i.e. not on a regular schedule)

What is the expectation of the parent/caregiver during sessions?

The parent/caregiver is required to stay for the entirety of the session. This is to enable conversations that will benefit and direct your child's intervention, so that you observe specific strategies that you may be asked to continue to use at home, and for you to be actively involved in therapy - you may be asked to give something a go

What to expect on the first session

I will chat with you, observe your child, and play with them to gather valuable assessment information

Pricing Info

How much does it cost?

40-45 minute sessions are $120.

The first 45 minute session is $90.

'Why is it cheaper?!' you may be thinking. I understand that starting speech and language therapy can be daunting, both as a time and financial commitment, and on top of the concerns you already have regarding your child's development, it may all feel overwhelming.

I believe it is critically important that a therapist and client (both the parent/caregiver and child) are the right fit for each other. We will get the most out of our sessions if you and your child enjoy our sessions, and to put it plainly, like me as a person and professional (people connect with different types of people and that's okay). So come along to your first session and get a sense of what our sessions will look and feel like, and see if it will be a good fit for you and your child before you jump all in.
